This is a natural method to help women to know their fertility cycles, maintain their health, and avoid all of the physical, emotional, spiritual, and many other consequences of artificial reproductive technologies, and contraception.
The program was developed by a team led by Dr. Thomas W Hilgers MD, who is an obstetrician and gynecologist recognized in the United States and abroad for his work in finding ways to provide morally acceptable and effective reproductive health care services.

The recommended follow-up schedule is five follow-ups during the first three months and three follow-ups over the next nine months.
